Alexandra-Maria-Lara
Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in film and TV is most well-known for her roles in films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the only children of Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the world of show business early, and ended up acting in lead roles on various shows on television by the time she was sixteen. Her critically acclaimed role in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader is another Oscar nominated movie featuring this actress. Alexandra is well known for her work in numerous important projects in both the US and internationally. Some of these include the British biographical documentary Control, Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, as well as the French historic miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was a member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
